Otis Redding, arriva il cofanetto in vinile "Otis forever"

Gli album postumi di Otis Redding vengono pubblicati in un nuovo cofanetto composto da sei vinili colorati che include versioni in mono di tutti i singoli degli album. “Otis Forever: The Albums & Singles: (1968-1970)” uscirà il prossimo 9 giugno in edizione limitata a 1.000 copie. Gli album sono stampati ciascuno su colori diversi. Mentre “The Singles 1968-1970” è un doppio album con copertina apribile illustrata da 7 pollici di tutti i 24 singoli.

Tra il 1962 e il 1967 Redding ha raggiunto l'apice della creatività registrando spesso alla Stax Records insieme ai Booker T. & The MG's, ovvero il tastierista Booker T. Jones, il chitarrista Steve Cropper, il bassista Donald "Duck" Dunn e il batterista Al Jackson Jr. Prima della sua scomparsa, avvenuta il 10 dicembre 1967 all'età di 26 anni, Otis Redding ha pubblicato sei album in studio e una serie di singoli di successo come "These Arms of Mine", "Respect" e "Try A Little Tenderness" che hanno trasformato la Stax da piccola etichetta discografica di Memphis a vera e propria istituzione conosciuta a livello mondiale.

Alla sua morte Otis Redding aveva registrato talmente tanta musica da riempire diversi album. La prima canzone di quel tesoro arrivò poco dopo la sua morte, nel gennaio del 1968, "(Sittin 'On) The Dock of the Bay", che diventò immediatamente la sua canzone più rappresentativa.
