Oscar 2024, le nomination musicali (c'è Billie Eilish)

Oggi, 23 gennaio, l'Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences rivela i nomi dei candidati alla 96esima edizione dei premi Oscar, la cui cerimonia di premiazione si terrà a Los Angeles al Dolby Theatre il prossimo 10 marzo e verrà presentata nuovamente da Jimmy Kimmel. L'annuncio delle candidature viene trasmesso in diretta streaming dal Samuel Goldwyn Theatre di Beverly Hills con la conduzione di Zazie Beetz e Jack Quaid.

Per quanto riguarda le categorie musicali, a contendersi una delle statuette più ambite, quella per la "Miglior Canzone Originale", ci sono Billie Eilish con il fratello Finneas e Mark Ronson con Andrew Wyatt per due brani dalla colonna sonora di "Barbie", rispettivamente "What was I made for?" e "I'm just Ken" - quest'ultimo interpretato nel film da Ryan Gosling. In lizza nella stessa categoria ci sono poi "It never went away" di Jon Batiste dal documentario Netflix "American Symphony", "The fire inside" di Diane Warren interpretata da Becky G dal film "Flamin' Hot" di Eva Longoria, e "Wahzhazhe (A song for my people)" di Scott George da "Killers of the flower moon" di Martin Scorsese.

In nomination nella categoria dedicata alla "Miglior colonna sonora", invece, ci sono le partiture di John Williams per "Indiana Jones e il quadrante del destino", di Laura Karpman per "American Fiction", di Robbie Robertson per "Killers of the flower moon", di Ludwig Goransson per "Oppenheimer" e di Jerskin Fendrix per "Poor things".
