Katy Perry e il film "The hunger games" sono i principali vincitori dei People's Choice Awards la cui 39esima edizione si è svolta l'altra sera al Nokia Theatre di Los Angeles. Katy ha vinto nei campi "Favourite Pop Artist" e "Favourite Female Artist", mentre la sua "Part of me" ha trionfato nel settore "Favourite video of the year" e i suoi fan irriducibili, i KatyCats, hanno vinto il titolo "Favourite Music Fan Following". Gli organizzatori della manifestazione hanno affermato che, per questa edizione, è stato toccato il record assoluto di 475 milioni di voti. "The hunger games", in Italia solo "Hunger games", film del 2012 diretto da Gary Ross e trasposizione cinematografica dell'omonimo romanzo di fantascienza scritto da Suzanne Collins, ha vinto i titoli "Favourite movie", "Action movie" e "Movie franchise".
