Rolling Stones: nuovo album all’orizzonte e "Black and Blue"

Non è un grande scherzo ben architettato, è proprio vero: "Hackney diamonds" (leggi qui la recensione), pubblicato nel 2023, al momento è l'ultimo album della discografia dei Rolling Stones, ma non ancora per molto. Infatti, anche Ronnie Wood – dopo il figlio di Keith Richards, Marlon, e, più di recente, il produttore Andrew Watt - ha confermato che un nuovo disco della leggendaria band britannica è "pronto" ed uscirà nel 2026.

Il chitarrista degli Stones è stato intercettato da un giornalista della rubrica Bizarre del quotidiano The Sun durante un evento tenutosi in Carnaby Street, a Londra. Alla precisa domanda su un nuovo disco del gruppo, Wood ha risposto: "Sì, uscirà un nuovo album l'anno prossimo. È pronto".

Non solo. Il giornalista, non pago, ha insistito chiedendo se la band fosse intenzionata ad andare in tour per promuovere il nuovo disco. Al che il 78enne chitarrista ha risposto: "Sì, speriamo di fare qualche data. Speriamo di tornare in tour, ma aspetto ancora di scoprirlo".

Con tutto il rispetto per Marlon Richards e per Andrew Watt, le parole di Ron Wood hanno tutto un altro peso. E' la prima volta che uno dei membri dei Rolling Stones si sbilancia sull'uscita di un prossimo album.Questa però non è l'unica notizia che riguarda la band di Jagger e Richards. Infatti, il prossimo 14 novembre, verrà pubblicata una ristampa con inediti del tredicesimo album dei Rolling Stones, "Black and blue", disco uscito originariamente il 20 aprile 1976. La ristampa di "Black and blue" uscirà sotto forma di cofanetto, sarà un "Super Deluxe Box Set". Il box conterrà anche un Blu-ray con filmati di rare esibizioni, un libro di cento pagine con fotografie esclusive e una replica della locandina del tour del 1976.

"Black and blue" ricopre, per più di un motivo, una certa importanza all'interno della discografia dei Rolling Stones. Innanzitutto fu il primo disco registrato dopo l’uscita del chitarrista Mick Taylor. Durante le sedute di registrazione vennero provati diversi chitarristi (Jeff Beck, Rory Gallagher, Harvey Mandel, Wayne Perkins), ma alla fine venne scelto Ronnie Wood, che entrò stabilmente nella band. L’album è quindi un documento del periodo di passaggio e di ricerca del nuovo "suono Stones". "Black and blue" segue "It’s Only Rock ’n Roll", uscito nel 1974, e anticipa l'album "Some Girls", pubblicato nel 1978, che venne trascinato dalle sonorità 'disco' del singolo "Miss you". Quanto a singoli, solo il primo singolo estratto da "Black and blue", "Fool to cry", ebbe un buon successo. All'epoca della sua uscita il disco non ebbe i favori della critica, questo nuovo cofanetto mira anche a rivalutarne il valore e la bontà.
