MTV VMAs 2022, tutti i vincitori: premiati anche i Måneskin
Si sono svolti ieri sera, 28 agosto, al Prudential Center di Newark, nel New Jersey, gli MTV VMAs 2022, tra i riconoscimenti più ambiti del pop-rock internazionale, che premiano i migliori videoclip e le migliori canzoni degli ultimi dodici mesi. Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X, Taylor Swift e Harry Styles, trionfando in più di una categoria, hanno guidato la lista dei vincitori, tra cui spiccano anche i Måneskin, primo gruppo italiano a portare a casa un riconoscimento ai prestigiosi premi.
Il quartetto capitolino è stato candidato agli MTV VMAs nelle categorie "Miglior artista esordiente", "Miglior video alternativo" e "Miglior gruppo". Mentre il premio come rivelazione dell’anno è andato a Dove Cameron, che ha battuto sia la band romana che Baby Keem, Gayle, Latto e i Seventeen, nella sfida per il "Miglior gruppo” i Måneskin sono stati superati dagli alfieri del K-pop, i BTS. Il video di “I wanna be your slave”, singolo che lo scorso anno la formazione di “Zitti e buoni” ha riproposto anche in un’altra versione con Iggy Pop, ha invece permesso a Damiano, Victoria, Thomas ed Ethan di essere il primo gruppo italiano a portarsi a casa il premio per “Miglior video alternativo” e di soffiarlo a Avril Lavigne (in lizza con “Love it when you hate me” con blackbear), Imagine Dragons (“Enemy” con JID), Machine Gun Kelly (“Emo girl” con Willow), Panic! At The Disco (“Viva Las Vengeance”), Twenty One Pilots (“Saturday”) e Willow (“Grow” con Avril Lavigne e Travis Barker).
Nel corso della serata, i Måneskin hanno inoltre messo a segno il loro debutto sul palco degli MTV VMAs con una performance del loro recente singolo “Supermodel”, uscito lo scorso 13 maggio. Con lo stile provocatorio che contraddistingue la band, il frontman Damiano si è presentato in scena a torso nudo con un paio di pantaloni in pelle in stile cowboy che lasciavano completamente scoperto il fondoschiena, mentre Victoria ha deciso di indossare un top monospalla, che le è costato un piccolo incidente sul palco. Come testimoniato da alcune immagini dell'esibizione del quartetto, il top della bassista è infatti scivolato lasciandola a seno scoperto. Per questo motivo, secondo alcuni fan che si sono lamentati sui social di una possibile "censura" della performance, la regia avrebbe scelto di riprendere alcuni momenti del set con lontane inquadrature.
Tra coloro che si sono portati a casa più statuette, Jack Harlow ha ricevuto quattro premi su sette nomination: “Canzone dell’estate” per la sua "First Class” e grazie a "Industry baby” con Lil Nas X ha vinto anche nelle categorie “Migliore collaborazione”, “Migliore direzione artistica” e “Migliori visual effects”. Dal canto suo, Taylor Swift si è portata a casa la statuetta di “Video dell’anno” per “All too well (10 minute version) (Taylor’s version)”. Lo stesso video ha permesso alla cantautrice di vincere nelle categorie “Miglior longform video”e “Miglior regia”. Harry Styles, invece, ha trionfato nella categoria “Album dell’anno” con il suo nuovo “Harry’s house” ed è stato anche il vincitore del premio “Miglior pop” grazie a “As it was”, che ha vinto anche in “Miglior cinematografia”.
