Bruce Springsteen, in arrivo il mega cofanetto 'The ties that bind: the River collection'
"The river", il quinto album in studio del rocker del New Jersey e primo "doppio" firmato dal Boss nel 1980, sarà ripubblicato il prossimo 4 dicembre sotto forma di box set - intitolato "The ties that bind: the river collection" - contenente inediti e rarità assortite: per la realizzazione del disco, che seguì nella discografica di Bruce Springsteen "Darkness on the edge of town" del 1978, venne registrata una massiccia quantità di outtakes - quasi una trentina - in parte pubblicate in raccolte e "best of" successivi e in parte ad oggi ancora inedite. Alcune, come "Held up without a gun", "Be true" e "Roulette", sono già state pubblicate come b-side, mentre altre - come "Mary Lou", "I wanna be with you", "Bring on the night", "Ricky wants a man of her own", "Loose ends", "Dollhouse", "Where the bands are", "Living on the edge of the world", "Restless nights" e "Take 'em as they come" - hanno trovato spazio nelle raccolte "Tracks" e "The essential Bruce Springsteen".
Registrato dalla E Street Band al completo e prodotto dallo stesso Springsteen, in collaborazione con il suo manager Jon Landau e il chitarrista Steven Van Zandt, "The river" fu mixato da Bob Clearmountain, Chuck Plotkin e Toby Scott, con il supporto di Dana Bisbee e del tecnico del suono Neil Dorfsman.
