Kerrang Awards 2014, le nomination. Presenta ancora Scott Ian degli Anthrax

I "Kerrang! Awards" del settimanale heavy britannico "Kerrang!" si svolgono dal 1993 e premiano musicisti, personaggi, locali e organizzazioni che abbiano a che fare con l'universo del metallo e del rock duro. Anche quest'anno il presentatore della manifestazione sarà Scott Ian. Il chitarrista degli Anthrax, nato nel Queens di NYC, il 12 giugno sarà affiancato da Andrew WK; l'evento si svolgerà, come per l'edizione 2013, al Troxy nell'East End di Londra. Scott, 50 anni, è alla sua ottava edizione. In testa alla corsa delle "noms" ci sono gli You Me At Six, che sono in lizza per ben cinque premi dopo aver conquistato - nello scorso gennaio - il numero uno della  chart britannica con il loro album "Cavalier youth". I ragazzi del Surrey corrono per le categorie Best Single, Best Album, Best British Band, Best Live Band e Hottest Male (per il chitarrista  Max Helyer). Tra le altre band in lizza ai premi, che per ragioni commerciali sono ufficialmente denominati "Relentless Kerrang! Awards", spiccano i Behemoth, Bring Me The Horizon, Deaf Havana, Architects e una formazione che probabilmente farà venire un colpo ai metallari più ortodossi: i 5 Seconds Of Summer, da alcuni ritenuti più una boyband che un gruppo vero e proprio, e che non si sa bene come siano spuntati nel mezzo della lista "Best international newcomer".
