UK, la canzone preferita di Elvis Presley è 'Always on my mind'

"Blue suede shoes"? "Love me tender"? "Hound dog"? "All shook up"? No, la canzone di Elvis Presley che il pubblico britannico preferisce è "Always on my mind". Questo il risultato di un sondaggio al quale ieri sera è stato dedicato un intero programma, "The nation's favourite Elvis song" andato in onda su ITV. Da 20 brani in lista la scelta si è ristretta fino a giungere - appunto - ad "Always on my mind". Il pezzo fu inciso dal King nel marzo '72, poco dopo la sua separazione dalla miglie Priscilla, e uscì come "lato B" di "Separate ways". Le successive cover sono quasi innumerevoli; basti citare quella di Willie Nelson nel  1982 e quella dei Pet Shop Boys

 nel 1987. In seconda posizione, sempre nel sondaggio di ITV, si è classificata "Suspicious minds". Nel Regno Unito il listone con i pezzi preferiti di Elvis è diventato
