Il cosiddetto “effetto Brits” si è sentito, eccome, nelle nuove classifiche britanniche. Duffy, che ai recenti Brits Awards ha vinto ben tre premi, ha guadagnato, col suo “Rockferry” che sembrava destinato ad uscire dalla Top 30, ben quindici posizioni risalendo fino al numero 4 e quasi raddoppiando le vendite. I Kings Of Leon, vincitori del trofeo “Best international group”, sono tornati al primo posto ed i Ting Tings, che sono tornati a casa a mani vuote ma si sono esibiti sul palco dell’Earls Court, hanno visto le proprie vendite aumentare dell’80%. Beneficiati anche altri collegati all’evento, come ad esempio Pet Shop Boys ed Elbow. I Brits hanno avuto un impatto però decisamente più limitato sulla chart dei singoli del Regno Unito. L’esempio (al negativo) più eclatante, ed in un certo senso clamoroso, è costituito dagli U2. Bono e soci, pur essendosi esibiti, si ritrovano con “Get on your boots” che apre ad un magro numero dodici. Queste le due classifiche britanniche della settimana.
