Concerto tributo a Patti Smith: come è andata

Bruce Springsteen, Flea, Karen O, Michael Stipe, Johnny Depp e altri hanno guidato una jam all-star con Patti Smith al suo concerto tributo di beneficenza ieri sera alla Carnegie Hall di New York ha ospitato il concerto tributo 'People Have the Power: A Celebration of Patti Smith'.

Bruce Springsteen e la house band della serata guidata da Tony Shanahan, membro storico della band di Smith, insieme a Flea dei Red Hot Chili Peppers e al batterista del tour dei Rolling Stones Steve Jordan, hanno eseguito una versione di "Because The Night".

Al concerto si sono esibiti, tra gli altri, Matt Berninger, Kim Gordon, Michael Stipe , mentre altri volti noti come Scarlett Johansson, Jim Jarmusch e Sean Penn hanno fatto capolino per leggere le poesie di Patti. Karen O ha invece eseguito una cover del classico del 1975 della Smith "Gloria" . Un altro artista che si è esibito è stato Johnny Depp che si è unito ad Alison Mosshart dei Kills e Flea per "Dancing Barefoot" .

In chiusura di live è salita sul palco anche Patti Smith sulle note di "People Have The Power" con quasi tutti gli artisti ospiti della serata.
