Il premio "Best dressed" è andato a Brandon Flowers dei Killers, il meno ambito "Worst dressed" a Britney Spears. "Hero of the year" è stato dichiarato il compianto DJ di Radio1 John Peel. Pete Doherty, ricoverato in clinica per la disintossicazione da droghe, aveva annunciato il suo arrivo; ma, un'ora prima dell'inizio, ha telefonato sua madre dicendo che il figlio non si sentiva troppo bene e non sarebbe apparso. Delusi gli Scissor Sisters, che dalle loro tre nomination non hanno tratto alcunché. Standing ovation, quando è salita sul palco per ritirare il premio in memoria, per Sheila, ex moglie di John Peel.
