Si è svolta oggi, a Londra, la cerimonia di assegnazione dei riconoscimenti della cinquantanovesima edizione degli Ivor Novello Awards. I premi britannici, anche detti colloquialmente Ivors, sono riconoscimenti alla composizione dati in memoria del gallese Ivor Novello, scomparso nel 1951 e che ebbe grande successo durante e tra le due guerre mondiali. Nella categoria di maggior prestigio, "Album award", ha vinto Nick Cave il cui "Push the sky away" (con i Bad Seeds) ha "battuto" gli Arctic Monkeys che concorrevano con "AM". Il riconoscimento è stato assegnato a Cave e Warren Ellis da Chrissie Hynde. Marcus Mumford, presso l'albergo Grosvenor House, ha accettato il premio per "International achievement" a nome dei Mumford & Sons. L'elenco dei vincitori:
