Questo box contiene promette 68 brani inediti o rari su 81 contenuti in tre CD e un DVD, che ripercorrono cronologicamente la carriera della rock band più famosa degli anni ’90. “With the lights out” esce dopo una lunga battaglia tra la vedovca Cobain Courtney Love (che sostiene di avere in ancora tonnellate di materiale inedito) e i membri superstiti del gruppo Dave Grohl e Kirts Novoselic. Le 81 canzoni provengono da b-side, outtakes, demo, registrazioni di esibizioni radiofoniche e provini casalinghi.
