Il prossimo 7 marzo gli Yes pubblicheranno una Super Deluxe Edition del classico del 1972 “Close to the Edge” (leggi qui la recensione). Il set di cinque CD/LP/Blu-ray includerà una nuova versione rimasterizzata dell'album originale, il quinto della band, e rarità inedite. Conterrà anche, per la prima volta, nuovi mix di Steven Wilson in Dolby Atmos e 5.1 Mix DTS-HD MA.
“Close to the Edge” venne pubblicato dopo l'album “Fragile” , e divenne il loro disco più alto in classifica, raggiungendo la posizione numero 3. L'album venne inciso dalla formazione più nota della band inglese: il cantante Jon Anderson , il chitarrista Steve Howe , il bassista Chris Squire , il tastierista Rick Wakeman e il batterista Bill Bruford , che lasciò gli Yes per unirsi ai King Crimson dopo la registrazione di “Close to the Edge” .
"'Close to the Edge' è l'album più miracoloso degli Yes", racconta Steve Howe in un comunicato stampa. "Contiene la nostra prima epica di 20 minuti, il modello per molte tracce su larga scala che sono poi seguite, accompagnata da due tracce di 10 minuti, registrate in modo simile con la massima integrità musicale e tecnica. Registrare 'Fragile' fu un'esperienza che ci ha permesso di realizzare 'Close to the Edge', l'album che ha definito la carriera degli Yes".
