Il prossimo 24 novembre verrà pubblicato "Queen of Rock 'n' Roll", una raccolta che celebra i 50 anni della carriera solista di Tina Turner. Una compilation di 55 brani che raccoglie tutti i singoli pubblicati in ordine cronologico, dal 1975 al 2023, della musicista statunitense venuta a mancare lo scorso mese di maggio.
"Queen of Rock 'n' Roll" sarà disponibile in 3CD, 5LP e in digitale con una versione in vinile con 12 tracce. Tutti i formati sono accompagnati da una prefazione di Bryan Adams, amico di Tina Turner e a lungo suo collaboratore.
La prima pubblicazione di Anna Mae Bullock, questo il suo vero nome, da solista fu l'album del 1974 "Tina Turns The Country On!". L'album non produsse alcun singolo, ma nel 1975, in occasione dell'uscita del suo secondo album, "Acid Queen", venne pubblicata la sua cover di "Whole Lotta Love" dei Led Zeppelin, che dà il via a questo set che include duetti con artisti che rispondono al nome di David Bowie, Bryan Adams, Eric Clapton e Rod Stewart.
Questa raccolta contiene anche una nuova versione di "Something Beautiful Remains", reintitolata semplicemente "Something Beautiful". Il brano è stato rielaborato dal produttore Terry Britten che ha salutato Tina con queste parole: "Cara Tina, l'esperienza di lavorare con te non potrà mai essere ripetuta, ma nel mio cuore qualcosa di bello rimane. Con amore, Terry".
Nella prefazione Bryan Adams scrive: "Dall'oscurità ai palcoscenici del Regno Unito e dell'Europa, attribuisco a Tina il merito di aver cambiato il corso della mia vita e gli sono davvero grato di avere avuto un po' del suo prezioso tempo. Era una forza della natura, nessuno aveva la sua energia o la sua voce, suppongo che sia giusto dirlo, “IT’S ONLY LOVE, AND THAT'S ALL".
