L'album dei Pink Floyd è stato oggetto di alcune rivisitazioni integrali. La prima risale al 2006, si intitola "Return to the Dark Side of the Moon: A Tribute to Pink Floyd" ed è stata realizzata da un folto gruppo di musicist5i di varia estrazione fra i quali Peter Banks degli Yes, Jeff baxter degli Steely Dan, Bill Broford (Yes e King Crimson), Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa), Geoff Downes (Yes e Asia), Aynsley Dunbar (Zappa, Lou Reed, Bowie...), Steve Howe (Yes, Asia), Tony Kaye (yes), Robbie Kriger (Doors), Tony Levin (King Crimson, Peter Gabriel), Steve Lukather (Toto), Steve Porcaro (Toto), David Sancious (Springsteen, Sting, Peter Gabriel), Rick Wakeman (Yes), Alan White (yes), John Wetton (Family, King Crimson, Roxy Music, Uriah Heep, Wishbone Ash, Asia), Alan White (yes), Edgar Winter, Dweezil Zappa.
Nel 2002 gli Squirrels (una band di Seattle) pubblicarono "The Not So Bright Side of the Moon"
nel 2003, il collettivo reggae newyorkese Easy Star All-Stars pubblicò "Dub Side of the Moon"
facendolo seguire nel 2010 da "The dubber side of the moon"
Curiosa la versione a cappella realizzata dai Voices on The Dark Side curata dal produttore e musicta di Chicago Freddie Feldman
Curiosa anche la versione del The String Quartet (un quartetto d'archi: viola, violoncello e due violini)
Nel 2009 anche i Flaming Lips, in collaborazione con Stardeath and White Dwarfs e con Henry Rollins e Peaches, pubblicarono il loro rifacimento, intitolato "The Flaming Lips and Stardeath and White Dwarfs with Henry Rollins and Peaches Doing The Dark Side of the Moon"
mentre la band Poor Man's Whiskey lo esegue spesso in stile bluegrass, chiamando lo spettacolo "Dark Side of the Moonshine".
Nel 2004 fu realizzata una particolare reinterpretazione con un quartetto d'archi.
mentre la cantautrice Mary Fahl ha pubblicato nel 2011 "From the dark side of the moon"
I Phish hanno suonato dal vivo l'intero album, qui ecco un'esecuzione del 1998
