One Direction e Katy Perry sono tra i vincitori dei premi francesi NRJ Music Awards che si sono svolti ieri sera. Gli 1D si sono portati a casa il riconoscimento "Video of the year" per "Best song ever" e anche l'"International Duo/Group of The Year". Più tardi Harry Styles del gruppo, via Twitter, ha scritto: "Thank you so much to Nrj for having us. Thank you everyone who voted! You, me, oui". A Cannes due premi anche per Katy Perry, "International Female Artist of the Year" e, per "Roar", "International Song of the Year". Riconoscimenti anche per James Arthur, il cantante inglese vincitore della nona edizione di "X Factor" che qualche settimana fa è stato al centro di forti polemiche per una sua dichiarazione omofoba, al quale è andato l'"International Breakthrough of the Year", e per Bruno Mars, onorato con l'"International Male Artist of the Year". Tra i francofoni premiati Louis Delort, Tal, Stromae e Christophe Mae.
Gli NRJ Music Awards - gioco di parole tra "Nouvelle Radio des Jeunes" e "énergie" - sono stati istituiti nel 2000 e vengono assegnati dall'emittente
radiofonica NRJ.
