In arrivo un album di rarità per Stephin Merritt (Magnetic Fields)

Verrà stampato il prossimo 23 agosto per la Merge Records “Obscurities”, nuova pubblicazione a nome di Stephin Merritt. Il musicista americano, noto principalmente per essere la mente del progetto indie-pop Magnetic Fields , ha deciso di inserire in questa compilation molto materiale inedito ed alcune rarità. Della sua creatura più famosa sono stati inseriti cinque brani tratti dalle sessioni di registrazione del triplo album “69 love songs” del 1999, ma non inclusi nella tracklist finale (alcuni pubblicati in seguito come b-side), mentre della sua produzione solista sono stati scelti tre brani composti per il musical di fantascienza “Song from Venus”, scritto con Daniel Handler (conosciuto anche come Lemony Snicket) e mai venuto alla luce. Infine sono presenti quattro brani a nome di tre progetti paralleli di Merritt: Buffalo Rome, The 6ths e The Gothic Archies. L’ultimo album edito da Stephin Merritt è stato con i Magnetic Fields nel 2010 con il titolo “Realism” . Di seguito la tracklist completa di “Obscurities”:
