A due anni di distanza da “At Mount Zoomer”, i canadesi Wolf Parade tornano con un nuovo album intitolato “Expo 86”. Il progetto capitanato da Spencer Krug (già con Frog Eyes, Swan Lake e Fifths of Seven) e Dan Boeckner (Handsome Furs) si presenta con undici nuovi brani nei quali si sente meno l'irruenza chitarristica dei primi lavori ed il baricentro si sposta verso territori maggiormente oscuri, new-wave ed influenze anni Ottanta. L'album, registrato negli Usa e prodotto dall'ex Arcade Fire Howard Billerman, è intitolato in questo modo poiché, chiacchierando, tutti i membri della band hanno scoperto di aver visitato da ragazzini l'EXPO del 1986 a Vancouver.
