A tre anni di distanza dagli ottimi consensi riscossi con il loro precedente album “Land of the free II”, tornano i Gamma Ray.
La formazione power-metal di Hannover (Germania), fondata nel 1989 dal chitarrista e cantante Kai Hansen dopo la sua uscita dagli Helloween, presenta il decimo capitolo discografico “To the metal”, dieci brani che oltre alla consolidata formula dei Gamma Ray includono anche sfumature gothic e industrial.
Una curiosità: nella live line-up dei Gamma Ray ha militato come tastierista, nel periodo 2007/2008, il fiorentino Alessio Gori dei Flashback of Anger.
