Nel settembre 2009 la cantante irlandese Dolores O'Riordan annuncia con un comunicato la reunion del suo storico gruppo: i Cranberries.
La formazione, che non sforna alcun lavoro ufficiale dal 2001 (“Wake up and smell the coffee”) e che ha alle spalle qualcosa come 50 milioni di copie vendute in carriera, programma una lunga tournée mondiale, in attesa di dare alla luce un album nuovo di zecca. Per placare l'attesa la Island Records pubblica “Bualadh bos: The Cranberries live”, un disco dal vivo sul quale sono incluse quindici canzoni registrate tra il 1994 ed il 1998 a Los Angeles, Toronto, Oslo, Tipperary: spiccano grandi successi come “Linger”, “Free to decide”, “Ode to my family”, “Zombie”, “Promises” e “Dreams”.
“Bualadh bos”, che in gaelico significa “batti le mani”, è il primo live album dei Cranberries: la band ha affermato di non essere stata coinvolta dall'etichetta nella realizzazione di questo disco.
