Non è la prima volta che il mondo della musica si avvicina al Natale re-interpretando i grandi classici del periodo. Questa volta a farlo sono i nomi di punta della scena hard-rock mondiale, il genere che come atmosfere forse meno si avvicina alla Santa festività.
Ecco allora Alice Cooper in “Santa Claus is coming to town”, Lemmy Klimster dei Motorhead, Dave Grohl dei Foo Fighters e Billy Gibbons dei ZZ Top in “Run Rudolph run”, Ronnie James Dio e Tony Iommi in “God rest ye merry gentlemen”, Steve Lukhater dei Toto in “Happy Xmas (war is over)” ed altri ancora.
Ogni brano del disco è stato suonato da diversi musicisti appartenenti al mondo hard-rock/metal: si segnalano, tra i tanti, i nomi di John 5 (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson), Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Chuck Billy (Testament) e Scott Ian (Anthrax).
