I Live giungono al settimo album in studio. La band capitanata da Ed Kowalczyk torna a tre anni di distanza da “Bird of prey” con dodici nuove canzoni contenute in “Songs from black mountain”. Il disco, prodotto da Jim Wirt, propone un sound rock più morbido rispetto ai precedenti lavori, diviso tra episodi maggiormente elettrici e brani vicini al folk che trattano, con rabbia e con dolcezza, temi come l’amore, la fede e la famiglia.
