Brendan Benson (Raconteurs) torna come solista dopo 3 anni

26 gen 2012 - A quasi tre anni di distanza dal suo ultimo album solista, "My old, familiar friend" dell'agosto 2009, torna Brendan Benson. Il 41enne compositore e multistrumentista - è specialmente conosciuto come chitarrista, ma suona anche basso e testiere - del Michigan, come noto, fa anche parte dei Raconteurs, la band fondata da Jack White. Con il gruppo dell'ex White Stripe l'artista ha pubblicato due album, "Broken boy soldiers" del 2006 e "Consolers of the lonely" del 2008. Benson, che cita tra gli artisti che lo hanno influenzato Cars, David Bowie ed Electric Light Orchestra, pubblicherà "What kind of world" il prossimo 23 aprile. Il disco è autoprodotto ed è stato registrato da Brendan, che ha vissuto a New Orleans, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco e Nashville, presso lo studio "Welcome to 1979" di Nashville, dove peraltro si trova il quartier generale dell'etichetta Third Man Records di White. Il primo assaggio da "White kind of world" è il brano "Bad for me", disponibile già da oggi come download gratuito. Tour europeo di supporto all'album previsto per il prossimo maggio.
